He became aware of NOA's existence while enlisted in the US Army. The brass, fearing that NOA would become a major threat, stood up a new anti-psychiccer unit. He was that unit's first anti-psychiccer cyborg, a position he himself had volunteered for. The reason? Because just a short time ago, his wife and child were killed by a psychiccer.

episode 1

While searching for the enemy, Gates' sensors picked one up quite close by: the psychiccer Wendy. Gates quickly accelerated towards his target, and soon enough her form came in on his visual sensors.

Wendy: Wha...what are you?! What do you want with me?

Without a word, Gates entered battle mode.

Gates: Psycho generator operational! Release safety! Commencing attack.

 

Gates quietly exited battle mode.

Gates: Target eliminated. Restart sensors...begin enemy search.

episode 2

Gates once again prepared to enter into combat with a psychiccer. Before him stood Burn, a man who held a kind of power that felt different from the psychiccers Gates had met before.

Burn: A cyborg, huh? If you get in my way, I won't go easy on you!

Gates' sensors picked up a massive amount of heat being released from Burn.

Gates: Target acquired. Mobile check OK. Eliminating enemy.

 

Afterwards, Gates transferred the battle data into his databank as usual.

Gates: Elimination complete. Run routine data analysis...update patterns to match.

episode 3

Gates' rear sensors blasted a warning: someone was on his tail. A massive amount of psycho power was closing in on him, very fast. Finally, Gates' pursuer appeared before him. It was a young boy...the psychiccer Emilio.

Power radiated off Emilio like the fury burning in his eyes as he glared at Gates.

Emilio: You...you're the one that killed them... You... Damn youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

Emilio's power pushed Gates' psycho gauge into the red, and just kept rising. The gauge maxed out, and Emilio's power continued to rise.

Gates: Target's psycho level increasing rapidly. ...DANGER... Eliminate without delay.

 

Gates: Target has ceased life functions. Exiting battle mode.

Gates flew off in search of a new target.

episode 4

Gates found the magician Genma within a deep, massive forest. Gates could tell from his sensors that Genma was not a psychiccer at all. However, the game only has nine characters he could also tell for a fact that Genma had powers far beyond those of ordinary people.

For his part, Genma sensed trouble in the air, and quietly took his stance.

Genma: ...my thanks for clearing out the small fry. But, if you want my life as well...

Genma began to gather his power. Gates' sensors showed a red signal.

Gates: WARNING!! Registering psychic levels. Proceeding with elimination.

Gates booted his attack system.

 

Pure white sparks like fireworks exploded from Gates' pile bunker. Gates' immediately cut its power, noticing that either way, it was out of commission from the damage it had taken during the fight.

Gates: Battle complete. Damage check. Shutting down A2 system.

episode 5

Brad: Hee hee hee... What do you have inside? Oil? Let me seeeeeeeee!

From out of the blue, Gates was attacked. The aggressor was the psychiccer Brad, and Gates got ready to fight back himself. But as Brad's gravity power increased, Gates' internal system began to malfunction.

Gates: Magnetic levels increasing...influencing systems.

Every single sensor was on the fritz and rapidly becoming unusable. The central control circuit was also showing increasing instability.

Full power was no longer possible. Gates made his decision.

Gates: Setting reflector level at 80%. Attacking.

 

The abnormal magnetic field that encircled the area remained, even after Brad fell. Gates' systems showed that if he remained here any longer, it would become dangerous.

Gates: Target eliminated. ...airspace still showing abnormalities. Retreating.

episode 6

Gates confirmed a single psychiccer waiting at a volcano ahead. As he approached, the system cut over from enemy search mode to attack mode. At the same time, the safety locks for all his internal armaments released.

Sonia: So you came... I will remove all those who would stop Sir Keith from reaching his goals.

Gates referenced his data bank while continuing to monitor the psychiccer.

Gates: ...Keith. NOA member TMD6392 confirmed... Eliminating.

All of Gates internal armaments fired at Sonia.

 

Even after the fight, Gates did not stand down and exit battle mode. He stood there stock still, wrapped in murderous fury.

Gates: I've finally found you, Keith... So, you were the one leading NOA all along...

Gates' clenched fists showed his rage against Keith. Then Gates spoke to his beloved, late, wife and daughter.

Gates: Tina...Cheryl...wait just a little bit longer... Just a bit longer and I'll end his life...

episode 7

While Gates was heading to NOA, he was cut off. In front of him stood Wong, whose a happy gaze was belied by an ironic smile.

Wong: This is wonderful... Not only have you cleared out everyone in my way, you're the perfect specimen for my research.

However, Gates was beyond hearing. His heart ruled entirely by rage, Gates was only able to think of eliminating every single psychiccer in NOA from this world.

Gates: A member of NOA... I cannot not forgive psychiccers... I will eliminate them all.

 

Gates didn't even bother looking at Wong, who had fallen to the ground, groaning. He only glared into the distance, muttering to himself like a man possessed.

Gates: ...I'll get you...I'll get you, NOA...Keith!

episode 8

The depths of NOA. Finally, Gates and Keith met again.

Keith: It seems I am the last witness to that hell left alive...but...!

Keith began to wrap himself in icy power.

Gates: My body was made from collecting psychic research data. You cannot win.

Gates released the control lock on all of his systems. He felt his entire body fill with incredible energy.

Keith: Such impertinence... Then I will teach you how worthless you are by defeating you, the army, and all the humans in this world!

Gates: This is revenge for my wife...my daughter...and myself! I will eliminate you here and now!!

What will the lonely soldier see at the end of his path of revenge...?
